Bike Walk & Wheel Week is Springfield’s annual celebration of being active and trying new ways to get about town. This fun week of activities and incentives for you is designed to encourage the use of active modes of transportation to run an errand, get to work/school, or wherever you need to go. Where will your route take you? Which transportation modes will you choose to go somewhere? Whether you’re a beginner or experienced at using Springfield’s active modes, plan to give one or more a try - whether it’s biking, walking, taking the bus, carpooling, using a wheelchair, or any combination. This is a week to celebrate Springfield’s priority to create a fun, active, and efficient vibrant community. to interact within. Our city reaps a long list of benefits that active transportation infrastructure provides for including public health, quality of life, conservation, and our local economy. Participation in this event promotes continued expansion and integration of our greenway trails, on-street bike facilities, sidewalks, and transit network.
